Cortex
Its a sunny Monday and here’s to keeping the blog short and informative. Â Today I want to share with you a little piece of scientific evolution. Â We are parents for a very good and well thought out reason. Â Our brains, albeit, not always functioning perfectly, are fully developed. Â Our children’s brains are not. Â In fact the part of the brain responsible for logic and reason, isn’t fully developed until the age of 22 – 24 years of age. Â In some males it never develops… ok, just kidding on the last part!
It is our job to make major decisions and to lead our children confidently. Â They do not yet know what it is like to way pros and cons and to sort information in a logical way. Â They need us!!
My Thought for the Day:
“Your child’s cerebral cortex, the part of the brain used for reason and logic, is not fully developed until 22 – 24 years of age. Â In the meantime you are in charge of this part of the brain. Â Lead your child’s cortex with love & CONFIDENCE.” Â
